Vionnaz is a municipality in the district of Monthey in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.GeographyVionnaz has an area, of 20.9km2. Of this area, 6.32km2 or 30.2% is used for agricultural purposes, while 11.45km2 or 54.7% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 1.48km2 or 7.1% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.24km2 or 1.1% is either rivers or lakes and 1.46km2 or 7.0% is unproductive land.Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 3.2% and transportation infrastructure made up 2.6%. Out of the forested land, 49.1% of the total land area is heavily forested and 2.0% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 7.6% is used for growing crops and 4.2% is pastures, while 1.3% is used for orchards or vine crops and 17.0% is used for alpine pastures. All the water in the municipality is flowing water.
