A União Ciclística Internacional é uma associação internacional das Federações ciclísticas nacionais, sem fins lucrativos. A sede da UCI situa-se em Aigle, Suíça. A sua designação original é Union Cycliste Internationale.A UCI emite licenças para os corredores competirem, e reforça regras de disciplina, como por exemplo sobre o doping. Também administra as classificações de corridas e os pontos para a classificação em várias modalidades, incluindo Mountain bike, Ciclismo de estrada e BMX, ambos para homens e mulheres, amadores e profissionais. Também organiza campeonatos mundiais — em que países diferentes competem ao invés das equipes comerciais — em várias categorias e diferentes modalidades. Os vencedores dessas competições têm o direito de vestir uma camisa especial com um arco-íris no ano seguinte, e de vestir uma camisa também com um arco-íris nas mangas e na gola durante o resto da carreira.HistóriaA UCI foi fundada em 4 de Abril de 1900 na cidade de Paris pelas organizações nacionais de cilismo da Bélgica, Estados Unidos, França, Itália, e Suíça.Em 2004, a UCI construiu um novo velódromo de 200 metros no novo centro mundial de ciclismo juntamente à sua sede.
