Michel Forst is an independent expert who reports and advises on the situation of human rights defenders around the world
Michel Forst was appointed United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders by the Human Rights Council in June 2014.
Michel Forst has an extensive experience working for the promotion and protection of human rights as he worked for a number of international and French organisations. He also served as the Independent expert on the situation of human rights in Haiti between 2008 and 2013.
