I rented a VW transporter from Europcar AMAG. When calling I was told there is a special price for EPFL staff of Fr 159.- per day. I pointed out to the manager Mr. Ben Salem that the online price of Fr 136.17 per day is lower than the special EPFL price. He claimed that the online price includes no collision coverage and that I would be liable for the full price of the vehicle. However, the online reservation system clear stated that the coverage is limited to Fr. 2500. When I informed the manager of the online conditions he seemed surprised and uninformed. I drove 78 Km with the van and when filled up the tank it took 14.3 l diesel to fill to full. This is much more than the van should have used, so the tank was not full when I received the car. When I i returned the keys to the manager Mr. Ben Salem, he said sorry but there was nothing he could do about it. In my opinion, the agency is responsible to hand over the vehicle with a full tank if they expect me to return the car with a full tank. I am disappointed with the service at AMG and will not rent again from this agency.
