The Space
10 minutes’ drive / 14 minutes bus ride from Lucerne central station, this is an ideal home away from home for larger families, friends' getting together, business peeps or a sports club, travelling by car or coach.

Though ideal for a larger party, individual guests travelling are just as welcome: please see my smaller offers for smaller parties.

Guests travelling by train and bus. You will find easy connection from Lucerne Railway Station (Bus #73) to my house, which is a 14 minutes bus ride at a fare of € 3.20. A ticket for a whole day by bus in and around Lucerne, can be purchased at any vending machine for € 7.00

For guests travelling with elderly, children and/or lots of other luggage, i offer a transfer from and to Lucerne railway station upon arrival and departure for a small fee, depending on the size of your party. I particularly recommend this service upon arrival, since the last 200 meters to my great house is a bit of an upgoing road: well worth the climb, but not if there's a risk that it will be your last. No big deal for any backpacker though.

Ze house is comprising 4 floors, 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a kitchen, a living and 4 private parking lots.

The spacious living / dining room, featuring a fireplace and large flat screen TV, is offering direct access into the green private garden as well as to the 350 sqft. terrace, with an astonishing view of Mount Pilatus.

Here, you may like to have a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine during the often pleasantly warm summer evenings.

Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, leaving no husband with excuses for great culinary achievements.

On a cold or rainy day, cuddle up in front of the fireplace, watch Disneys on the flat screen TV or go for a treasure hunt in and around the house and find the hidden key that opens the old mysterious chest in the living room.

Hi-speed-Wi-Fi connection is available anywhere on the premises.

The lower, 2 bed room studio in the basement, yet featuring daylight, is accessible both indoor as well as by a separate entrance, it's the ideal department for any youngsters in search of independence or the maybe less popular distant cousins and mothers-in-law travelling with you.

Laundry service is available on the premises. Additional fees may apply, depending on your need for clean underwear and my need for cash.

Children under the age of 12, staying in the parents' room, will enjoy 50% off. Baby cots are provided if required, free of charge (for babies).

Children over the age of 65 in the company of both parents stay free of charge.

A discount for having a good sense of humour is included in any room rate.

Guest Access
As a guest, you will have access to all general rooms within the house plus the garden, terrace, balcony and parking. With a total of 4 WC (and a lot of bush around the house) it is practically impossible not finding a quiet spot on the premises, unless all had the same dish at the wrong restaurant.

The house is partially wheelchair accessible and one floor is featuring an extra spacious room plus lovely balcony. The bathrooms are not particularly wheelchair accessible unfortunately; physically challenged guests may therefore require the assistance of a caring friend or family member. There will be no messing around with your vehicle, i promise.

Mentally challenged guests will have good chances of making a new friend.

Breakfast is not included nor served, for legal reasons. You will have to bring your own or nick a few basics, such as milk, juice, jam and toast from my fridge and cup board and blame the kids, which is widely accepted.

Hitting the tip jar generously will ensure future guests to be able to have their way with my stuff as well.

All general areas, including kitchen, living, terrace and garden, are accessible to all and using them is free of charge, provided they are left in the same condition as you found them.. or better. The tip jar can handle notes as well.

If you wish to have any (legal) goods waiting for you upon arrival; i'll be happy to take care of your shopping list at conditions applicable in the local supermarket, which you will find down the street, as well as a bakery.

Fresh bed linen, towels, toilet paper, shower gel and my annoying presence are included in the room rate.

Interaction with Guests
Prior to or whilst your stay at the house, the extend of interaction between the guests and myself is basically left at the guests' discretion. I will usually be there upon arrival and departure and close by if desired.

You'll find me easy to call on for questions or small talk. I'll be happy to assist you in almost any matter concerning your party, your itinerary, the house, the area, your sister, etc.

The Neighborhood
The neighbourhood is a quiet and peaceful street on an elevated site. No big deal for a back packer but a bit tough to reach on old feet. It's only an aerodynamic stone throw away from the pulsing city centre of Lucerne yet is leaving one with many other options.. hiking, biking, touring, you name it. A bunch of sheep mark the entrance of my street: they are not suitable for consumption. The area is so damn safe that one can walk around in bikini in the middle of the night and nothing would happen, even if one wanted to*

* between October and March there is a good chance you will catch an ammonia though.

Prices include all taxes as well as discounts for having a great sense of humour, being blessed with many children, having a good looking, single sister-in-law, being a good looking, single sister-in-law, having inside information of the stock market, being a Greenpeace sponsor, a ManU supporter or a WW2 veteran (any side).

Do not hesitate to ask for extra discounts if you think you are entitled to any. I will not hesitate to say no, if i think you're not.
