Yens is a municipality in the Swiss canton of Vaud, located in the district of Morges.GeographyYens has an area, of 9.5km2. Of this area, 5.18km2 or 54.5% is used for agricultural purposes, while 3.66km2 or 38.5% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.7km2 or 7.4% is settled (buildings or roads) and 0.02km2 or 0.2% is unproductive land.Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 4.1% and transportation infrastructure made up 2.4%. Out of the forested land, 36.6% of the total land area is heavily forested and 1.9% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees.
