Winznau is a municipality in the district of Gösgen in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland.GeographyWinznau has an area, of 3.94km2. Of this area, 1.43km2 or 36.3% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.58km2 or 40.1% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.78km2 or 19.8% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.16km2 or 4.1% is either rivers or lakes.Of the built up area, industrial buildings made up 2.8% of the total area while housing and buildings made up 9.4% and transportation infrastructure made up 5.6%. Out of the forested land, 38.1% of the total land area is heavily forested and 2.0% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 20.8% is used for growing crops and 13.5% is pastures and 1.5% is used for alpine pastures.
