Vullierens is a municipality in the Swiss canton of Vaud, located in the district of Morges. Vullierens is known for its castle, iris gardens and banqueting center "Portes des Iris".GeographyVullierens has an area, of 6.8km2. Of this area, 5.77km2 or 84.4% is used for agricultural purposes, while 0.63km2 or 9.2% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.44km2 or 6.4% is settled (buildings or roads) and 0.01km2 or 0.1% is unproductive land.Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 3.7% and transportation infrastructure made up 2.6%. Out of the forested land, 7.9% of the total land area is heavily forested and 1.3% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 72.4% is used for growing crops and 6.9% is pastures, while 5.1% is used for orchards or vine crops.The municipality was part of the Morges District until it was dissolved on 31 August 2006, and Vullierens became part of the new district of Morges.Coat of armsThe blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Gules, in chief a Castle with three Towers Or, in base two Sea-daces addorsed Argent.DemographicsVullierens has a population of., 11.5% of the population are resident foreign nationals.
