Villeneuve is a municipality of the canton of Vaud in Switzerland, located in the district of Aigle.GeographyVilleneuve has an area, of 32.04km2. Of this area, 8.56km2 or 26.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 17.69km2 or 55.2% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 2.63km2 or 8.2% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.17km2 or 0.5% is either rivers or lakes and 3.08km2 or 9.6% is unproductive land.Of the built up area, industrial buildings made up 1.5% of the total area while housing and buildings made up 1.9% and transportation infrastructure made up 2.8%. Power and water infrastructure as well as other special developed areas made up 1.7% of the area Out of the forested land, 50.9% of the total land area is heavily forested and 2.6% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 0.9% is used for growing crops, while 2.3% is used for orchards or vine crops and 22.5% is used for alpine pastures. All the water in the municipality is flowing water.
