Of this area, 4.06km2 or 31.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 4.35km2 or 34.0% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.51km2 or 4.0% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.17km2 or 1.3% is either rivers or lakes and 3.67km2 or 28.6% is unproductive land.Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 1.4% and transportation infrastructure made up 2.0%. Out of the forested land, 30.2% of the total land area is heavily forested and 3.7% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 0.1% is used for growing crops and 1.6% is pastures, while 9.3% is used for orchards or vine crops and 20.7% is used for alpine pastures. All the water in the municipality is flowing water.
