Valeyres-sous-Rances is a municipality in the district of Jura-Nord Vaudois in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.GeographyValeyres-sous-Rances has an area, of 6.4km2. Of this area, 5.2km2 or 81.6% is used for agricultural purposes, while 0.7km2 or 11.0% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.44km2 or 6.9% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.04km2 or 0.6% is either rivers or lakes and 0.01km2 or 0.2% is unproductive land.Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 3.0% and transportation infrastructure made up 3.5%. Out of the forested land, 9.1% of the total land area is heavily forested and 1.9% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 69.9% is used for growing crops and 8.2% is pastures, while 3.6% is used for orchards or vine crops.
