The objectives of the initiative “Ukrainian Research in Switzerland” are to make a long-term contribution to furthering Ukraine expertise in Switzerland.

"The objectives of the research initiative “Ukrainian Research in Switzerland” URIS are to make a long-term contribution to furthering Ukraine expertise in Switzerland.URIS receives funding from the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SBFI.The initiative announces two “URIS fellowships” once a year. They are open to postdoctoral and senior scholars in the humanities, cultural studies and social sciences whose research has the potential to make a substantial contribution to a better understanding of the history, society, politics and culture of Ukraine.The fellowship enables the recipient to spend six months researching at the University of Basel."
