Geschichte

Tiguri Braai is a licensed, food production and fast-food brand whose headquarters are in Uster. Our flagship product is Tiguriwurst, a hand-made farmers sausage made with Swiss meat and spiced with a secret, traditional, South African recipe. To compliment the flavours inside Tiguriwurst we have developed our own Braai Sauce.

The Tiguri Braai concept started to form in 2010 when Guy began to produce biltong for his family and friends. Word of mouth spread and his respective hobby began to take up more time.

In his own words

"At the age of 4 my father began to teach me how to braai. It began with "here, taste this", "see if can you get me some more wood?", "Boy, go ask mom for the braai tongs". It was a very proud moment when my father passed me the braai tongs so I could turn the meat!

The point is, I have been braaiing for as long as I can remember. I have catered for as little as 2 people and as many as 100. I do this in my own or my friends garden, on the beach, by the lake, in the forest, anywhere. If there is wood, there is a way!
I developed a taste for different herbs and spices at a young age because I got bored with the same old flavours from the shops. Over the years I have developed many different braai recipes and sauces and the sauce I like best is what I now call Tiguri Braai Sauce.

I moved to Switzerland in 2005 to build an asset management company with a friend. In 2010, we had CHF1.8 billion Assets Under Management and employed over 100 people in 5 European countries. I resigned in September 2012 to essentially take my hobby out of the garage.
