Geschichte

Therwil is a municipality in the district of Arlesheim in the canton of Basel-Country in Switzerland.GeographyTherwil has an area, of 7.63km2. Of this area, 3.52km2 or 46.1% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.88km2 or 24.6% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 2.22km2 or 29.1% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.01km2 or 0.1% is either rivers or lakes and 0.03km2 or 0.4% is unproductive land.Of the built up area, industrial buildings made up 1.4% of the total area while housing and buildings made up 18.6% and transportation infrastructure made up 5.8%. while parks, green belts and sports fields made up 2.5%. Out of the forested land, 22.4% of the total land area is heavily forested and 2.2% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 34.1% is used for growing crops and 7.1% is pastures, while 5.0% is used for orchards or vine crops.
