Geschichte

From the outset, the House of Studer has been untiring in its quest for new ideas and its desire for the extraordinary. Only by ventu- ring something new can we truly appreciate past achievements. With this idea in mind, our forefather and company founder Hans Studer struck out for more distant horizons. His travels took him to Aquitaine, where he found an unimaginably rich seam of exper- tise in the distilling of various kinds of fruit. In Bordeaux and Cognac, masters of the fine art of distilling introduced him to their craft. With time-honoured recipes for French liqueurs and a wealth of other invaluable secrets, he returned to his family in Escholzmatt/Lucerne. In 1883, driven by his boundless energy, he laid the cornerstone for what is today Distillerie Studer & Co AG. Our intention is to sustain and cultivate the long tradition that lives on in the incomparable flavours of our fine spirits for years to come. With the same passion we learned from our forefathers. Thus ensuring that good spirits from the House of Studer will be a constant source of pleasure to you and your friends.
