Siviriez is a municipality in the district of Glâne in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland.HistorySiviriez is first mentioned in 1147 as Sivrie.GeographySiviriez has an area, of 20.3km2. Of this area, 15.1km2 or 74.5% is used for agricultural purposes, while 3.48km2 or 17.2% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 1.62km2 or 8.0% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.04km2 or 0.2% is either rivers or lakes and 0.05km2 or 0.2% is unproductive land.Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 4.9% and transportation infrastructure made up 2.9%. Out of the forested land, 15.6% of the total land area is heavily forested and 1.6% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 29.4% is used for growing crops and 44.2% is pastures. All the water in the municipality is flowing water.On 1 January 1978 the former municipalities of Villaranon and Le Saulgy merged into the municipality of Siviriez.
