Training at London School of Sport & Remedial Massage (ISRM/BTEC Level 5).
I have done over 100 treatments (between ages 10-75), both male and female, athletes and non-athletes.
Treatments vary from back, neck, head, shoulder, hip, feet and leg pains, to injury prevention in various types of athletes (a.o. running, biking, taekwondo, tennis, swimming, yoga and Salsa dancers) and rehabilitation after operations and injuries.
I have treated people with migraines, hernias, torticollis, arthritis, osteoporosis, sciatica, tennis elbow, scoliosis, hyper-mobility, urticaria, broken bones, implants, trapped shoulder tendons, diabetes, fused vertebrae, cesareans, urethra, hypo/hyper glycemia, greater trochanteric pain syndrome and tendonitis.
I use massage and stretching in combination with various physio and ostheo techniques, such as:
- NMT (neuromuscular techniques): trigger/reflex points and deep friction.
- STR (soft tissue release).
- MET (muscle energy techniques): PIR (post isometric relation) and RI (reciprocal inhibition).
- PR (positional release).
My goal is to have every client leave feeling relaxed and well informed about what was done, why and how they can prevent it from possibly happening again.
On a first appointment I will speak extensively with every client before beginning the treatment.
The key to success is a two-way communication about expectations and what each of us is feeling during and after the treatment.
After treatments I will usually pull out an ipad to visualise what a client felt and what I was working on. I use a great 3D app called Visible Body which shows a.o. attachment points of muscles and their actions.
Often I will send stretches or strengthening exercises, via Whats App or email, that can be done at home.
