mine-ex ist eine Stiftung hervorgegangen aus dem Rotary Club Burgdorf im Jahr 1995.
Zweck : Hilfe für alle Minenopfer in Afghanistan und Kambodscha.

Geschichte

Personenminen sind billig und schrecklich wirksam. Daher werden sie immer noch eingesetzt - trotz Restriktionen des humanitären Völkerrechtes. Und so sind jährlich mehrere tausend Minenopfer zu beklagen, von denen 2/3 Prothesen benötigen. Bei Kindern müssen diese alle 6 -12 Monate und bei Erwachsenen alle 2 - 4 Jahre ersetzt werden.

Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe:

MINE-EX will Opfern von Personenminen wieder zu einem möglichst Menschen würdigen und selbständigen Leben verhelfen. Um auch dies auch wirkungsvoll tun zu können, konzentriert mine-ex seine Tätigkeit auf Kambodscha und Afghanistan. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem IKRK werden in Kambodscha Prothesenmacher ausgebildet, eine Fabrik für Prothesen Komponenten unterhalten und nach neuen, einfachen Mitteln für die Erleichterung des Alltages gesucht. Für die Zusammenarbeit mit dem IKRK stellt MINE-EX neben aktiver und ehrenamtlicher Mitarbeit jährlich rund CHF 800'000 zur Verfügung.

Organisation MINE-EX Stiftung Rotary CH/FL:

Die drei Schweizer Rotary Distrikte haben die MINE-EX-Stiftung Rotary CH/FL gegründet. Ihre Mitglieder sind ehrenamtlich tätig. Um in Kambodscha und Afgahnistan kompetent präsent zu sein, arbeiten sie mit dem Internationalen Komitee vom Roten Kreuz zusammen. Das IKRK sorgt dafür, dass die von MINE-EX gesammelten Beträge in vollem Umfang und ohne Kürzung nach Kambodscha/Afahnistan weiter fliessen.
Um die Hilfe für die Minenopfer in diesem Land langfristig sicherzustellen, braucht es die Unterstützung aller Clubs von Rotary CH/FL. Die Clubs werden periodisch über MINE-EX-Delegierte orientiert und sensibilisiert. Viele Aktivitäten der Clubs breiten sich über den Kreis von Rotary hinaus aus auf die Bevölkerung. Dadurch erhält mine-ex mehr und mehr die geschätzte Unterstützung der breiten Oeffentlichkeit.

Fakten zu Kambodscha:

• Grösse des Landes ca. 180'000 km2, davon sind ca. 560 km2 als minenverseucht geortet. Minenräumung pro Jahr etwa 18 km2, somit dauert die gesamte Entminung noch viele Jahre
• Ca. 36'000 Verwundete und 9'000 Amputierte, davon brauchen ca. 4'000 jährlich Ersatzprothesen
• 186 neue Opfer im Jahr 2012
• 11 orthopädische Zentren werden kostenlos durch die von MINE-EX unterstützte Prothesen-Komponentenfabrik beliefert und stellen die landesweite Versorgung der Opfer sicher

Seit Beginn der MINE-EX Aktivitäten im Jahre 1996 erhielten auf diese Weise bis Ende 2010 mehr als 40'000 Opfer gratis die notwendige Hilfe. Dies soll auch künftig so weitergehen. Wir sind uns bewusst, dass die Opfer unsere langfristige Unterstützung benötigen. Die wirtschaftliche Situation der Betroffenen wird auch weiterhin kritisch bleiben.

Les mines antipersonnel sont bon marché et effroyablement efficaces. Elles continuent donc à être utilisées, en dépit des restrictions du droit international humanitaire. Ainsi, on déplore plusieurs milliers de victimes des mines chaque année, dont 2/3 ont besoin de prothèses. Chez les enfants, ces appareils doivent être remplacés tous les 6 à 12 mois, et chez les adultes tous les 2 à 4 ans.

Accompagner les victimes sur le chemin de l’autonomie

mine-ex est animée d’une double ambition: faire en sorte que les victimes des mines antipersonnel soient de nouveau considérées comme des êtres humains à part entière et les aider à retrouver leur autonomie. Afin d’agir efficacement, les activités sont concentrées sur le Cambodge et l’Afghanistan. En collaboration avec le CICR, mine-ex forme des prothésistes au Cambodge, gère une fabrique de composants de prothèse et recherche de nouveaux moyens simples pour faciliter le quotidien. Dans le cadre de cette collaboration, le Rotary coopère certes activement et bénévolement avec le CICR, mais il met en outre actuellement chaque année CHF 800 000 à la disposition de son partenaire.

Organisation de la Fondation mine-ex

Les trois districts suisses du Rotary ont créé la Fondation mine-ex Rotary CH/FL. Ses membres interviennent à titre bénévole. Pour assurer une présence compétente au Cambodge, ils collaborent avec le Comité international de la Croix‑Rouge. Le CICR veille à ce que les montants collectés par mine-ex transitent intégralement et sans prélèvement vers le Cambodge.
Pour garantir dans ce pays l’aide à long terme aux victimes des mines, le soutien de tous les clubs du Rotary CH/FL est nécessaire. Les délégués mine-ex les informent et les sensibilisent individuellement de manière régulière. De nombreuses activités des clubs s’étendent au-delà du cercle du Rotary pour toucher la population. Ainsi, mine-ex jouit de plus en plus du soutien estimé de l’opinion publique.

Nous sommes conscients du fait que les victimes ont besoin de notre soutien à long terme. Malheureusement, la situation économique des personnes concernées continuera quant à elle à être critique.

The mines are cheap and very effective, which is why they continue to be used by some countries, despite being banned by International humanitarian laws. As a result, there are some thousend new victims each year in the world of which two-thirds need prostheses. With children the prostheses need to be replaced every 6-12 months due to growth, adults every 2-4 years because of wear.

Helping people help themselves:

MINE-EX supports mine victims to get back a human and independent life.
In order to be effective, MINE-EX is focusing its activity on Cambodia and Afghanistan only. In cooperation with the ICRC, MINE-EX supports the education for prosthetic makers, maintains a factory for prosthetic components and investigates in new means for simplifying the victims daily's life. MINE-EX offers next to active volunteer work a support of CHF 800,000 a year.

The MINE-EX Foundation Rotary Districts 1980, 1990 and 2000 CH/FL:

The three Rotary districts of Switzerland have set up the MINE-EX Foundation of Rotary CH/FL, which is run by volunteers Rotarians. To ensure that MINE-EX can achieve its objectives in Cambodia and Afghanistan, they collaborate with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The ICRC makes sure that the total amount of all the funds reaches the mine victims.
To ensure perennial help to the mine victims, MINE-EX needs the support of all the Rotary Clubs in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Each Club is informed and updated periodically by their MINE-EX delegate. The activities that numerous clubs are engaged in extend beyond the Rotary organization to the entire population. This allows MINE-EX to obtain the welcome help of growing public

Facts about Cambodia:

• a country of 180'000 km2, of which a third has been acknowledged as infested by antipersonnel mines. approximately 18 km2 are cleared of mines and UXO (unexploded ordnance) every year
• a population of approximately 10 million inhabitants with 30,000 mines and UXO victims, suffering from amputations
• 6,000 of them, need a prosthesis replacement each year and almost 500 new mine victims require new prosthesis each year
• 11 orthopedic centers are helping the country’s mine victims. These centers are supplied with free prosthetic components from the Bangtrabek factory.

More than 40,000 mine victims have benefited from free aid since the beginning of MINE-EX in 1996. We would like this to continue in the future. We are conscious that the victims need aid for a long period. Their economical situation will continue to be difficult.
