Gio' "MBG" Canepa DJ & Producer Curriculum:

Giorgio Canepa aka DJ MBG begins as a DiskJockey and Producer at the age of 17 in Genoa (Italy) where thanks to his technical school and musical choices he rides the consoles of the most important locals of the period in Genova XENOS and ANYWAY. MBG comes from 'MIX BY GIO' his famous brand which was in all the mastermix tapes he handed out among to car repair shop and bodyworkers in town. As a Producer he begins his record activity in Gulliver Studio, Genoa and soon his first discs jump to the highest rankings all around the world:

SPEED 127 - N.1 (BELGIUM)
These 3 Bombs consequently carry him to the reign of the Italian discotheques: Rimini, where he settles down and creates 'BUNKER STUDIOS' the first of his three record studios, (totally MIDI, technology mostly Roland & ATARI).
In 1990 he serves numerous internships with the best Producers of the moment such as Leslie Lorenz, Robert Owens' phonic: with him he produces a version of the famous OPTIK - Music Harmony and Rhythm and with KID BUTCHELOR, DJ of International reputation, he collaborates on the composition of some of the first discs of the CNF of Maurizio Clemente, TONY HUMPRIES' Manager. He numbers OPTIK/THE CHANCE produced by GioMBG with RICKY MONTANARI one of the TEN CLASSICS Of the INTERNATIONAL HOUSE MUSIC of All Times!

In this period MBG creates his famous MBG INTERNATIONAL RECORDS (underground label 90's Deep house).

Among his first productions on behalf of third parties we also find "A KISS DOESN'T KILL" the homonym film soundtrack and many others famous numbers one such as "A Guy called Gerald RMX" & "ESTA LOCA.

Some years later opens DENSITY where he begins his first digital experiences with Apple technology. This, with quality analogic mixing and intuition, gives him a great support for escalation in a market which is no more a simply underground but an international one.

During this period the UNDERGROUND ITALIAN HOUSE MUSIC flies - also thanks to MBG. With his first Distributor FLYNG RECORDS first, and then with DISCO MAGIC he rides the Golden Years of World-wide HOUSE Discography and makes many of his best productions, getting impressive sales so that he's requested to work in the most famous discotheques in the World:

After a stage at the New Music Seminar in New York he creates a new style, "TRANCE WAVE" and his homonym label jumps on time after time to the tops in whole Europe ; with the TOP Manager Salvatore Cusato he's named TOP ITALIAN DJ in Switzerland and in the most important International Distributions.

He licences his pieces everywhere and on any Major like: SONY, WEA, EMI, WARNER MUSIC & BMG... At last, and after some years of hard work, MBG fulfills his third studio just under his own home.

Now MBG is working at the last of his creations: the GioMBG.com Edition House with international brands such as:
