Geschichte

Lavka is a new concept store in St Gallen, Switzerland.

Our name is originating from the Russian word Lavka which means a small private shop where in old times merchants often placed their items for sale onto a bench (or LAVKA). It symbolizes not only the special personal care we provide to customers, but also a home style atmosphere of our shop.

We decided that it should be a rather unusual shop. Specializing in everything, starting from variety of unique products, their presentation and edging to quality and design. However, the store is not just an arena for sales. It is also a place where you can have a small break from the city rush and take a cup of coffee while you go through a new book of one of Berlin`s best publishers.

Our project started from a dream, the dream to sell noble designed items at reasonable prices in one single place where you can find a proper gift for everyone. It is a project of a few young, rich minded, talented and not indifferent to an art and design people. All together they created a project whose main idea was to introduce to a customer a wonderful world of toys, mobiles, books, porcelain, drawings and many-many other things for your home and living.

However, design and individuality were not our only strategy. In our search for unique goods we paid special attention to the small and medium size producers; who either use eco materials for their products or employ people with disabilities similar to WerkHaus from Germany. Another important attribute for us is ecology. We do believe that it is very important for everyone to support eco style production in the world of big fabrics and as an example have chosen to use only recycled material for all of our packing needs.Every year we attend world famous exhibitions in order to carefully collect our products. The foundation of our portfolio are unusual toys which you can hardly find in a normal store with a special focus on quality and design Many products are coming from locally famous but rarely distributed international producers from France, Spain and Scandinavia. The second main product line is home interior and living items. Glass and wood, ceramic and porcelain specially collected for you. The last but not the least is party décor. We create a joy for everyone! The whole family will never forget a bright celebration decorated with items from famous Talking Tables.

We promise to not stop and always discover something new for you. Our shop is for creative people, who are not indifferent to beauty and still dreaming.
