Geschichte

The idea of HIT Foundation came about back in the fall of 2016 when our Founder Dr. Eberhard Scheuer, a trained psychologist, lecturer and digital health entrepreneur, met his old-time friend Reto Gadient who asked him if the Blockchain concept has been applied in healthcare.

Dr. Scheuer is a strong advocate for patient-centered healthcare and he believes in empowering patients and users alike with full control of their own health data. There is however a challenge.

As Nathan Eagle, the CEO of Jana succinctly expressed at the World Economic Forum, “today, the individual users of the internet are at the bottom of a broken economy. Value that is generated from individual data is being collected by third parties, and sold on to any cash-rich organization that is willing to buy it. The data generator receives nothing for their input.”

Dr. Scheuer immediately connected the dots and saw the potential of Blockchain leveling the playing field for patients and "data generators". Hence the HIT Foundation was born.

Together as a team, we at HIT Foundation believe that our platform has tremendous potential to transform and enrich the healthcare landscape and benefiting all parties of the entire healthcare ecosystem.
