Hauenstein-Ifenthal is a municipality in the district of Gösgen in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland.HistoryIfenthal is first mentioned in 1189 as Ifental. Hauenstein was mentioned in 1260 as Horwen.GeographyHauenstein-Ifenthal has an area, of 5.35km2. Of this area, 2.71km2 or 50.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 2.15km2 or 40.2% is forested.
