Goumoens-la-Ville is a former municipality in the district of Gros-de-Vaud in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.The municipalities of Éclagnens, Goumoens-la-Ville and Goumoens-le-Jux merged on 1 July 2011 into the new municipality of Goumoëns.HistoryGoumoens-la-Ville is first mentioned in 1228 as Guimuens li vila.GeographyGoumoens-la-Ville has an area, of 7.27km2. Of this area, 5.43km2 or 74.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.46km2 or 20.1% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.37km2 or 5.1% is settled (buildings or roads) and 0.01km2 or 0.1% is unproductive land.Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 2.8% and transportation infrastructure made up 2.1%. Out of the forested land, all of the forested land area is covered with heavy forests.
