Gollion is a municipality of the canton of Vaud in Switzerland, located in the district of Morges.HistoryGollion is first mentioned in 1228 as Gollun.GeographyGollion has an area, of 5.44km2. Of this area, 4.39km2 or 80.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 0.61km2 or 11.2% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.45km2 or 8.3% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.01km2 or 0.2% is either rivers or lakes.Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 4.4% and transportation infrastructure made up 3.3%. Out of the forested land, all of the forested land area is covered with heavy forests. Of the agricultural land, 64.7% is used for growing crops and 13.1% is pastures, while 2.9% is used for orchards or vine crops.
