Fanas is a former municipality in the district of Prättigau/Davos in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. On 1 January 2011 Fanas and Valzeina were merged with the municipality of Grüsch.HistoryFanas is first mentioned in second half of the 12th Century as Phanaunes.GeographyFanas has an area, of 21.8km2. Of this area, 45% is used for agricultural purposes, while 36.8% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.7% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (17.5%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).The municipality is located in the Seewis sub-district of the Prättigau/Davos district on a terrace between Grüsch and Schiers.
