Tra i segni della storia.

Un soggiorno nel Mendrisiotto e Basso Ceresio diventa subito un viaggio romantico e spettacolare immerso in un paesaggio dalla bellezza struggente, non più alpino ma non ancora toscano, alla scoperta del Ticino delle radici. Paese per paese, tra montagne, colline e lago la regione più meridionale della Svizzera è una terra ospitale e tutta da scoprire: dalla serenità del lago ai dolci declivi collinari punteggiati di ulivi, dalle pianure industriose ai filari di vigneti.

Terra ricca di contrasti, il Mendrisiotto offre momenti unici in qualsiasi stagione: in primavera quando la verde serenità dei prati della Valle di Muggio si tinge del bianco dei narcisi; d'estate quando l’unico refrigerio è sotto le pergole di osterie e grotti o in riva al lago; d'autunno quando il paesaggio si tinge di colori caldi e Mendrisio accoglie sagre dell’uva e fiere del bestiame; e in inverno, spesso molto mite, quando dalle vette dei Monti Generoso e San Giorgio si scopre l’infinito: il panorama mozzafiato delle Alpi innevate e della Pianura Padana, giù fino a Milano e agli Appennini. E uno dei modi migliori per apprezzare questa terra è entrare nei musei e nelle chiese dove Storia e cultura dialogano.



Oasi di silenzio a pochi passi da uno dei principali assi di transito europei.

Among the signs of history.

A stay in the Mendrisiotto and Lower Ceresio region to discover Ticino at its roots immediately becomes a spectacular romantic journey immersed in a landscape of exceptional beauty; it is no longer alpine but not yet Tuscan. Village by village, among mountains, hills and the lake the most southerly region of Switzerland is a hospitable land, all waiting to be discovered; from the peace of the lake to the gentle hilly slopes dotted with olive trees, from the industrial plains to the rows of vineyards.

The Mendrisiotto is a land full of contrasts and offers unique moments in every season: in spring when the calm green of the meadows in the Muggio Valley are tinged with the white of the narcissus; in summer when the only cool place is under the pergolas of the inns and grottoes or by the lakeside; in autumn when the countryside takes on warm colours and Mendrisio is host to the wine harvest festival and livestock fairs; and in winter, often very mild, when the infinite can be seen from the peaks of Monte Generoso and Monte San Giorgio; the breathtaking panorama of the snowy Alps and the Padana Plain, right down to Milan and the Apennines.



And one of the best ways to appreciate this land is to go into the museums and churches where history and culture interact - oases of silence just a few steps away from one of the main European transit routes.
