Of this area, 9.6% is used for agricultural purposes, while 23.9% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.7% is settled (buildings or roads) and 65.8% is unproductive land.The municipality is located in the Visp district, on the eastern and western sides of the entrance into the Saas valley.
