Info ALPS ART ACADEMY: Summer school on Land and Environmental Art 28.6. - 7.7. 2018 SYMPOSIUM New tendencies in Land and Environmental Art 30.6. / 1.7.2018 ART SAFIENTAL Land Art Biennale 7.7. - 21.10.2018 Geschichte In summer 2016, the first international ALPS ART ACADEMY on the topic LAND ART took place in Safiental (canton Graubünden, Switzerland). The next edition is in summer 2018. Throughout the eight different workshops, students and lecturers created art in dialogue with nature and landscape on location. One workshop is reserved for history, theory and mediation only. Critical analysis, challenging, and the upholding of the historical term Land Art are central to all workshops, as well as the transdisciplinary practice thereof. The resulting pieces of art and texts will provide suggestions for the next Land Art, that apart from nature and landscape, will incorporate further media and society. At the end of the Alps Art Academy, all pieces of art that were created during the workshops will be displayed to the public and will be presented during the open air exhibit ART SAFIENTAL to the valley and its visitors. the first outdoor exhibition took place from summer-fall 2016. the next edition is scheduled for summer season 2018. www.alpsartacademy.com www.artsafiental.ch Etikett Idea and concept Johannes M.
