Info Access to Water (A2W) is a Swiss Foundation implementing water treatment and jobs creation programmes for low income communities Geschichte Access to Water (A2W) is a Swiss Foundation implementing water treatment and jobs creation programmes for low income communities. A2W's vision is that everybody should have access to safe drinking water at an affordable price. They believe that a sustainable solution needs a strong technical solution, which is associated with an efficient maintenance service and a win-win business model for each stakeholder of the value chain. Today: - There are about 133 water treatment machines installed in Senegal, - A population basin of about 280'000 people have now access to safe drinking water, - A2W's project enabled the creation of about 480 working places! A2W aims at having an impact on: • the economy: with the creation of jobs, • the health: with the reduction of water related diseases such as diarrhea, hypertension, fluorosis, etc. • the social cohesion: by limiting rural exodus, • the environment: by decreasing CO2 emissions. Unsere Aufgabe A2W’s mission is to implement water treatment and jobs creation programmes for low-income countries. More specifically, programmes with social responsible business models designed for low revenue communities (BOP- Bottom of the Pyramid). It ensures the non-profit aspect and the good governance of the programme.
