Hettlingen is a municipality in the district of Winterthur in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland.HistoryHettlingen is first mentioned in 886 as Hetelinga.GeographyHettlingen has an area of 5.8km2. Of this area, 61.3% is used for agricultural purposes, while 21.8% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 16.1% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (0.9%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains). housing and buildings made up 10.7% of the total area, while transportation infrastructure made up the rest (5.8%). Of the total unproductive area, water (streams and lakes) made up 0.2% of the area. 13.8% of the total municipal area was undergoing some type of construction.The municipality is located im the southern Zürcher Weinland.DemographicsHettlingen has a population of., 6.6% of the population was made up of foreign nationals. the gender distribution of the population was 48.6% male and 51.4% female. The next three most popular parties were the FDP (17.2%), the CSP (13.3%) and the SPS (13.2%).
