Arlesheim District is one of the five districts of the largely German-speaking canton of Basel-Country, Switzerland. Its capital is the town of Arlesheim. It has a population of.GeographyArlesheim district has an area, of 96.24km2. Of this area, 27.86km2 or 28.9% is used for agricultural purposes, while 27.82km2 or 28.9% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 39.17km2 or 40.7% is settled (buildings or roads), 1.17km2 or 1.2% is either rivers or lakes and 0.19km2 or 0.2% is unproductive land.Of the built up area, industrial buildings made up 4.6% of the total area while housing and buildings made up 21.3% and transportation infrastructure made up 9.3%. Power and water infrastructure as well as other special developed areas made up 1.3% of the area while parks, green belts and sports fields made up 4.1%. Out of the forested land, 27.5% of the total land area is heavily forested and 1.4% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 17.8% is used for growing crops and 7.4% is pastures, while 3.8% is used for orchards or vine crops.
