CSCS

Geschichte

Founded in 1991, CSCS, the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre, develops and provides the key supercomputing capabilities required to solve important problems to science and/or society. The centre enables world-class research with a scientific user lab that is available to domestic and international researchers through a transparent, peer-reviewed allocation process. CSCS's resources are open to academia, and are available as well to users from industry and the business sector. The centre is operated by ETH Zurich and is located in Lugano.

"Fondato nel 1991, il CSCS, Centro Svizzero di Calcolo Scientifico, rappresenta un’essenziale struttura d’assistenza per i ricercatori delle università e politecnici svizzeri in tutti gli ambiti del supercalcolo. Il CSCS gestisce supercomputer all’avanguardia offrendo ai relativi utenti vaste conoscenze e un supporto competente in HPC computing ad alta prestazione. Il centro supporta i ricercatori in tutti gli ambiti del HPC e mette in contatto tra loro i ricercatori di diversi istituti favorendo la cooperazione nel campo della ricerca. Il CSCS è un’unità del Politecnico federale di Zurigo ETH Zürich ed è situato a Lugano."
