Commugny is a municipality in the district of Nyon in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.HistoryCommugny is first mentioned in 1018 as Communiacum.GeographyCommugny has an area, of 6.5km2. Of this area, 3.93km2 or 60.4% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.29km2 or 19.8% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 1.21km2 or 18.6% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.01km2 or 0.2% is either rivers or lakes and 0.05km2 or 0.8% is unproductive land.Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 14.7% and transportation infrastructure made up 3.4%. Out of the forested land, all of the forested land area is covered with heavy forests. Of the agricultural land, 48.8% is used for growing crops and 3.4% is pastures, while 8.1% is used for orchards or vine crops.
