Geschichte

An idyllic chalet located in the stunning Swiss Village of Grimentz, Val d'anniviers, Switzerland. The chalet has sleeps 4 people although there is a very small box room for a 5th guest. It has amazing views across the valley. Grimentz and the neighbouring village of Zinal offers nearly 200km of skiing and has an excellent snow record. Zinal is connected with a new cable car.
In the summer, hiking and mountain biking are very popular or a visit to Lac de Moiry.

The chalet is very well equipped with everything you need and more.
It is built on three levels with two balconies overlooking the valley. You enter the chalet on the top floor enjoying two double bedrooms, bathroom and a third box room. ( Bedroom 1 is a double bed, bedroom 2 is two singles and bedroom 3 a small single)

The middle level is a living and dining area plus kitchen and toilet. To the side of the kitchen is a large decking area with stunning views of the village. ( Ideal for breakfast outside in the summer )

The lower level is the utility ( Washing machine and tumble dryer) shower and a sauna with a view! (The glass window in the sauna overlooks the valley.) During the ski season this is used to store and dry all the ski clothing.

The chalet is approximately 1 kilometer from the village. The walk down is steep but stunning. During the ski season there is a complimentary bus service that operates between the chalet and main village where the ski lifts, lockers and ski hire are all located.

There are many ways to get to Grimentz;
By AIR - Fly to Geneva, hire a car and it it is a two hour drive. Very beautiful around the top of Geneva Lake and then up the mountain. Approximately 1.5 hours on the motorway and then 30 minutes of mountain roads. Other options include the snow train from the airport to Sierre which is the main town at the bottom of the mountain. You would then need to get a bus up the village. Public transport is first class in Switzerland an operates in all weathers

A new airline Powdair.com is operating from December - April specifically for the ski season. It operates between 6 UK airports into Sion which is the main town located approx 40 mins from Grimentz.(10 mins motorway and 30 minutes up the mountain)

By CAR - From the Eurotunnel at Calais it is 9 hours drive. This is our preference because we like to drive all our food and drink to the chalet.
