While one third of the global non-renewable resources are still being used for the manufacture and transportation of manufactured goods, resources are becoming scarce and the need for renewable bio-based materials strongly increasing. However, our highly demanding society won’t accept trading off sustainability against performance; hence new products increasingly need to combine both. Under the tagline “play naturally smart”, Bcomp has defined what looks like a paradox at first sight as its mission: designing and marketing sustainable intermediate goods with no compromise on performance.
