BASAID is an NGO that supports projects addressing basic needs, like Water, HealthCare, Agriculture and Education, in developing countries.

Geschichte

What are BASAID's priorities?

• Financial support is provided directly rather than through intermediary organisations.
• Projects are mainly in the areas of guaranteeing water supply, medical support and promotion of education.
• Projects should concentrate on improvements in rural areas. The concentration on a few regions promotes efficient control.
• Technical improvements must be aligned with the local situation.
• Education as a mean to support self-help is always part of a project.

How is BASAID financed: The lion’s share of the financial resources comes from the regular contributions of our members. The annual bazaar delivers a moderate contribution and provides a platform for displaying craft products from the countries where projects are run. Interest from the Lehman fund flows directly to our projects, and further donations are received from retirements, anniversaries, and legacies.
