Arisdorf is a municipality in the district of Liestal in the canton of Basel-Country in Switzerland.HistoryArisdorf is first mentioned in 1154 as Arnolstorf.GeographyArisdorf has an area, of 10km2. Of this area, 5.63km2 or 56.3% is used for agricultural purposes, while 3.41km2 or 34.1% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.94km2 or 9.4% is settled (buildings or roads) and 0.01km2 or 0.1% is unproductive land.Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 4.0% and transportation infrastructure made up 4.3%. Out of the forested land, 32.9% of the total land area is heavily forested and 1.2% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 22.7% is used for growing crops and 26.7% is pastures, while 6.9% is used for orchards or vine crops.The municipality is located in the Liestal district, in a valley in the Jura Mountains.
